Planterra Background
Planterra Gardens was established by Sara Moore, whose passion for horticulture began while earning her degree in Landscape Management at the University of Greenwich. During her time later working as a Landscape Manager, she discovered a love for plant focused design while working on various planting projects. Sara went on to gain extensive hands-on experience in wholesale nurseries, where she worked with horticultural clients advising on plant selection and design, cultivating her expertise in planting design.

With years of experience designing for both commercial properties and private gardens, Planterra adapts to a diverse range of style, from creating tranquil retreats to rewilded natural landscapes to shaping welcoming social areas and practical planting solutions. Working from their West Sussex studio, Planterra combines extensive plant knowledge with an innovative vision to create distinctive designs to enhance every outdoor environment.
Staying true to our roots, Planterra enjoys being hands-on supporting and assisting on projects, Keeping closely connected to the landscapes we design and love. Sara says, ‘designing with plants is like creating a living art. Even the most functional and practical designs can be beautiful, creating a haven for every space. I still like to get my hands dirty, and get stuck in where I can. Keeping my hands in the soil keeps me connected with the plants’.
