Planting Design Projects

Part 2 - Border Creation, West Sussex

In this design, we made use of the mature, evergreen shrubs that had been left unmanaged and had encroached across the garden. By retaining these plants, they perform as a backdrop to the new planting and continue to screen the fence. Each shrub was re-invented, re-shaped, creating rounded clipped crowns and even changing one shrub into a small, architectural tree.

By keeping the height of the shrubs above the fence line, ensured screening from neighbouring properties and keeping the sense of seclusion within the garden. These plants were a valuable foundation to the rest of the design.
